In E045, Dave Liburdi talks ‘shop’ about investing in the Niagara Region. A seasoned investor of 10+ years and 12 properties, Dave isn’t afraid to try new things. He ‘cut his teeth’ with student rentals and has since moved into commercial, multifamily and, most recently, a vacation rental. To his credit, Dave seems to find a way to prove the concept on every type of investment he tries and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about it.
The bulk of my discussion with Dave surrounded his activities in student rentals in Thorold ON and his vacation rental in St. Davids ON near Niagara-on-the-Lake. My big takeaways from our discussion were as follows: 1. There are ‘other ways’ to manage student rentals and it is possible to negotiate more than you might have thought as long as you’re reasonable with your tenants. and 2. vacation rentals in the Niagara Region can be extremely profitable and cash flow very well assuming their managed correctly.
